At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on March 5, 2024, Commissioner Barnett presented a certificate of recognition to Alexandria Ayala in observance of International Women’s Day. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Village of Palm Springs, Ayala is the first Latina elected to the School District of Palm Beach County School Board. In 2020, she began her term representing District 2 that includes parts of the cities of West Palm Beach, Greenacres and Lake Worth, the towns of Cloud Lake, Lake Clarke Shores and Haverhill and the Village of Palm Springs.
