Palm Beach County Vice Mayor Maria G. Marino joined over 100 county residents, community leaders, and non-profit partners at the Central County Housing Resource Center at 3660 Coconut Road in Palm Springs to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to address homelessness and support individuals in need within our community.

The new housing resource center will provide temporary housing for adults, youth, families and seniors, with 74 beds, a full-service kitchen, guest laundry, lounge areas and an exercise park. Clients will receive a variety of services during their 90-day stay, including assistance with finding jobs and permanent housing of their own. The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County's Breaking Bread Program will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner year-round, while Gulfstream Goodwill Industries will oversee all facility operations.

This project has been several years in the making with the combined efforts of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County Community Services Department, Palm Beach County Facilities Development and Operations Department, Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, the Homeless and Housing Alliance, the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
