Vice Mayor Maria G. Marino
On Dec. 8, 2023, Vice Mayor Marino toured key employers in the Glades region with the Business Developmental Board of Palm Beach County (BDB). The BDB's mission is to stimulate economic energy, promote business diversity and enrich the vitality of Palm Beach County through relocation, retention and expansion of companies to or in the county.
Agriculture is a core component in Palm Beach County's economy and the county leads the state in the production of sugarcane, sweet corn and sweet bell peppers. One company in particular, Tellus LLC, uses plant fibers, including sugarcane, to create bowls, plates and takeout containers that compost back into the earth. Attracting and retaining business in the Glades region and throughout Palm Beach County is tantamount to the success of our economy.
