At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Aug. 22, 2023, Commissioner Marino presented a proclamation declaring August 2023 as Palm Beach County LIHEAP Awareness Month. The Community Services Department's (CSD) Community Action Program administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) designed to provide eligible county residents financial relief from high home energy costs to restore or maintain utility services. LIHEAP helps reduce the energy burden for approximately 9,250 households locally, assisting 21,290 county residents.
