At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Nov. 1, 2022, Commissioner Maria G. Marino presented a proclamation declaring the second Saturday of December each year as Andrew “Red” Harris Artificial Reef Day. The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation Inc. (ARHF) is a nonprofit corporation created in 2014 to honor the memory of a young diver, snorkeler and fisherman who lost his life in a tragic snorkeling accident. ARHF is dedicated to assuring the long-term health and vibrancy of the coastal waters of Palm Beach County by building artificial reefs.
