At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Sept. 13, 2022, Commissioner Maria G. Marino presented a proclamation declaring Sept. 16, 2022, as Lagoon Keepers Day in Palm Beach County. The Lake Worth Lagoon Environmental Defense Fund Inc., also known as Lagoon Keepers, is a nonprofit corporation created in 2003 to remove marine debris and derelict vessels from the Lake Worth Lagoon and Intracoastal Waterways of Palm Beach County.
