On August 20, Vice Mayor Valeche welcomed residents of Limestone Creek at the start of a tour of a county natural area located in the neighborhood. The tour, led by Environmental Resources Management staff, was organized by Limestone Creek Community Advocates, sponsored by Healthier Jupiter and assisted by the Office of Community Revitalization, PBC Fire Rescue and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Three groups were guided through the natural area to learn about various protected species and to get a close look at this native habitat right in their backyard.
The Limestone Creek Natural Area also is the site of a memorial bench dedicated to the late Cindy DeFilippo, a long-time aide in the District 1 office and a beloved community volunteer.
