In response to resident inquiries from Beach Road Association members to Commissioner Marino, County Engineering’s Road & Bridge and Traffic Divisions teamed up with Parks & Recreation to regrade the shoulders along Beach Road in the vicinity of Coral Cove Park. The road shoulders had eroded extensively in areas used heavily by residents and visitors for parking to access both east and west sides of the park. In addition, storm water collected in the shoulder divots and had to be drained. The project was completed on February 8, and during construction, steps were taken to ensure beach access parking was available at all times.

Future improvements are in the planning stages to enhance pedestrian crossings and improved parking surfaces.

This project exemplifies the cross-collaboration of county departments in achieving positive results for the community.
