Commissioner Marino joined Palm Beach Gardens officials for the Veterans Salute Celebration on November 11 at
the city’s Veterans Plaza Amphitheater. The event, which featured the Florida National Guard 13th Army Band
paid special recognition to 97-year-old Julius Duhl, a purple heart recipient and former photographer with
the U.S. Army. Mr. Duhl accompanied U.S. troops as they landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D Day and
survived the Battle of the Bulge in WWII.
