On May 31, Commissioner Marino joined Mayor Dave Kerner, and Commissioners McKinlay and Weiss at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches' opening game for the Baseball Americas Qualifier of the XXXII Olympiad. This event represented the first Olympic Baseball Qualification event to take place in Palm Beach County.
