Commissioner Valeche joined Parks & Recreation Director Eric Call along with members of the Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationists and the Seminole Tribe of Florida at the 180th Anniversary of the Battle of Loxahatchee on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Riverbend/Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park.  For the second year, a battle reenactment was staged by 28 participants, that included firing an authentic 10-pound Mountain Howitzer cannon which dates back to 1837.  Nearly 2,000 visitors enjoyed the day's festivities.
