Citizen’s Criminal Justice Academy, “Mini”, concluded its four-week class on March 27, 2024, with a graduation ceremony and discussion led by Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, Riviera Beach Chief, Michael Coleman, and Deputy Chief, Kevin Coppin. Participants were awarded certificates.

It was an exciting new concept developed by PBC Criminal Justice Commission staff, Rosalind Murray, Coordinator, to determine if a short course of work, four weeks in length, would be more palatable for busy, time-starved participants.  It was a rousing success attracting many teens from Forest Hill High School’s Criminal Justice Academy, and a myriad of citizens of all ages from throughout Palm Beach County.

In all thirty-eight participants graduated with a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system as evidenced by a new survey prepared by Research and Planning Manager, Damir Kukec.   For more information about the Citizen’s Criminal Justice Academy, contact the CJC at 561-355-4943 or www.pbcgov.org/criminaljustice
