Spay Shuttle

Dog

Sterilization is the most humane way to reduce the surplus of unwanted puppies and kittens. Millions of unwanted animals die unnecessarily each year. The Spay Shuttle is a mobile veterinary clinic for pet owners residing in Palm Beach County. Pet surgeries are completed in the morning and animals are released to owners that same afternoon.

The Spay Shuttle currently operates Monday through Friday each week in the parking lot at Animal Care and Control. Please call 561-233-SPAY (7729) for detailed program information. To be placed on a waiting list call 561-233-1261. Please leave your name and telephone number.  This will place you on a list to be called. You do not have to call any further. When new appointments are available, you will be called back. Please be patient. Space is limited and appointments are not immediately available. The average wait for the Shuttle may be several months.

Spay Shuttle

If you currently have a scheduled appointment you must arrive on time or your slot will be given to someone else. If you do not have an appointment, you may stand in line in the event that someone does not arrive for their scheduled appointment. If this occurs, only an animal fitting the same size and sex can be accepted in its place. Residents on public assistance will receive priority if waiting in line.

In the event of a disaster/emergency or the veterinarian is not available, all operations of the Spay Shuttle will be shut down until further notice. Registration for scheduled appointments is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.  Residents should make sure dogs are clean and leashed and/or cats are confined in a secure carrier. Proof of residency is required. Owners of pets who do not arrive on time for pet-pickup, must pay impoundment or late fees.

The spay/neuter service fee is $15 and includes a rabies vaccination, County tag, and a microchip for pet identification. The spay/neuter fee of $15 is waived for residents with proof of public assistance. Other services are available for an additional fee.
