Can You Catch It? Participants will understand the importance of washing their hands and how easily viruses can be transferred. Participants will demonstrate proper hand washing techniques.

Creepy, Crawly Counters: Micro-organisms are everywhere; even on the food we eat! Proper hand washing is not enough! Participants will learn about different types of bacteria found on food, and understand how to clean safely to prevent contamination.

Biological Clean-up: Our planet is suffering more natural disasters as it ages, and with these disasters comes loss of life, both human and animal. Participants will understand the cross contamination from decomposition and its health risks.

Description:
This module is a series of educational sessions designed to promote the study of chemistry. Participants will create a variety of hands on experiments and projects while utilizing reusable and recycled items easily obtained at home. Each module utilizes the Scientific Method and reinforces current curriculum. Choose the session topic(s) that meet the needs of your after school program. Science can be fun!
- Mixtures & Separation: Participants will create a variety of mixtures using liquid and solid materials. They will then separate the solutions using a variety of equipment; such as screens, filters, etc. Participants will obtain knowledge of basic chemistry vocabulary and experience.
- Saturation: Participants will gain an understanding of the term “saturation.” They will create two saturated solutions and then compare the solubility of the materials by comparing the weight.
- Concentrations: Participants will gain a knowledge of the term “concentration” in the science text (not in the term of focus). They will observe and compare solutions to find the results when more water vs. powder or more powder vs. water.
- Outrageous Reactions: Participants will understand and observe a variety of chemical reactions. They will gain a knowledge for scientific terminology and lab safety.

High Touch High Tech provides fun, interactive, hands-on science experiences. Choose from a variety of sessions and explore the wonders of science!
- Cosmic Capers© – Participants will explore the forces that keep our planets in their orbits. They will have a hands-on look at eclipses and why we have seasons. We will go outside and launch rockets as we experience jet propulsion. We will conclude with a Space ice cream treat and take home a star glider.
- Earthworks© – Participants will learn to be thoughtful recyclers and sort out garbage and see what can be reused. Next we will have a hands-on look at real earthworms and understand how they help with recycling organic matter. Finally we will take yesterday’s newspaper and make our own recycled paper.
- Lab 101© – The participants will have fun as we discover the world of Chemistry. We will make our own slime, bouncy ball and gummy drop candies to eat as we explore physical and chemical changes.
- Finally Fun Machines© - Participants will have a hands-on look at the six simple machines and use these machines to build a compound machine that will get the job done! We will use a lever to lift the Scientist up with one hand and take home our own spinner.
- Fun’omena© - We will get the facts…on those natural acts! Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and volcanoes. Participants will learn about our changing conditions, which cause these phenomena. We will have FUN as we make them happen in the lab.
- Forensic Fun© - Participants will discover all the cool techniques that real crime fighters utilize. We will use the Scientific Method to help solve a mystery. Next, we will study our own genetic information to better understanding of how unique we all are. Finally, the participants will learn about D.N.A. and make a yummy molecular treat.
- Matter Matters© - Let’s discover all states of matter. We will build our own molecules with yummy "atoms" and become pH detectives as we test for acids and bases. The participants will learn the difference between chemical and physical changes as we make "slushies" to eat!
- Newton in a Nutshell© - Step back in time to the days of Newton and his famous Laws of Motion. The participants will have a hands-on look at these forces using beanbags, balance birds, gyroscopes and more. Let’s discover gravity and have FUN as we push, pull, and get the job done!
- Energy and Me© - The participants will explore the amazing world of electricity and magnetism. We’ll have a hair-raising time playing with static electricity. They’ll learn what’s “current” as we make doorbells ring and light bulbs light. We’ll investigate electromagnets, magnetic fields and make our very own magnet.
- Gold Rush© - The participants will step into the world of Geology as we learn about gems, rocks and minerals and where they came from. We’ll uncover the mysteries of rock formation and crystalline structure as we pan for real gems. We will keep what we find. Finally, we’ll perform acid tests and more as we classify our gems. Find out why gems are so precious.

- Liquids vs. Solids: Students will learn the difference between liquids and solids by using four of their five senses.
- Density in Liquids: Students will create a controlled environment to observe the density of liquids. Teamwork is essential to complete this project.
- Earth the Only One We Have: This module will demonstrate and increase the awareness of the damage from pollution to our planet.
- Hurricanes: Students will be able to identify the parts of a hurricane, understand how it is formed and how the hurricane affects our environment.
- Ocean in a Bottle: Students will demonstrate how liquids mix with water. This module emphasizes the impact of careless dumping.
- Force and Motion: Students will learn how to determine the amount of force needed to put an object in motion.

Psssst!! If you want to learn the “SECRETS” to ALL magic tricks you’ve GOT to see “The Mind Matters”!! All students will perform "Magic of the Mind" or "Sleight of Mind". We will appear to read minds, predict the future, and influence other people's choices. YOU WILL LEARN HOW!
The Mind Matters introduces and discusses the "secrets" (I refer to them as HABITS!) of successful people. Successful people are defined as happy people, people that know how to get what they want in life. They know how to advance in their careers. They know how to define goals and reach those goals by overcoming obstacles and difficulties. Students will learn the amazing untapped powers of their minds in a way that will educate them ... but more importantly, entertain and absolutely amaze them.
These are demonstrations of the powers of the mind! As many students as possible will be involved. I make them the stars of the show by teaching them how to "do the impossible" with their minds. My philosophy is simply to “Give people something to think about!”
