ACTademics Acting provides a high-energy, creative environment for students to actively participate in theatre arts! Participants will create characters, analyze scripts, write plays and perform using a series of ACTademics – curriculum designed to bring theatre and education together. Students will enhance their self-esteem, creativity, quick-thinking, teamwork, communication and focus while learning the techniques, terminology and improvisation games of the stage. Students will develop a love for the theatre and an appreciation for the arts through this fun and exciting acting module.

This module is designed to assist the aspiring actor with elocution, technique, body language, character analysis and portrayal, thus giving them the skills and confidence necessary to meet the challenges of auditioning. Your participants will learn the art of effective monologue delivery, and the importance of gesture and line timing in creating a believable scene through short speeches, skits, and one act plays created specifically for the youth actor.

Improve with Improvisation is a class of high-energy improvisation theatre games (like “Whose Line is it Anyway”). Students will develop their creativity and quick-thinking skills while positively interacting and working together with peers to create scenes and comedy without scripts.

Reader’s Theatre provides an opportunity for students to read various one-act plays out loud and discuss the themes and characters. Students will love hearing their peers read the lines of a play while imagining the blocking, set and costumes.
