Volunteer Opportunities

 

WE NEED YOU!

Because our building and programs have expanded, we are in need of additional volunteers!  Whatever skills you possess, and however much time you can give, we can use you!  Positions available include: 

  • GREETER
    Welcome the public, staff our information desk, and answer questions from visitors or over the phone.
  • ANIMAL CARE -
    Help care for our non-human residents, through feeding, watering, and keeping their cages clean.
  • BUTTERFLY GARDENER -
    Help maintain our butterfly and wildlife gardens and remove unwanted exotic plants.
  • EDUCATOR DOCENT
    Lead guided walks, help with our educational programs, and help educate visitors in our exhibit hall.  

  • SPECIAL EVENTS
    Assist with one-day special events, such as Earth Day, through out the year.

  • PHOTOGRAPHER
    Helps us by taking photos of wildlife (that could be used during programs) and for our special events.

Here are some general requirements for volunteering:

  • Be at least fifteen years old.
  • Work a minimum of one hour per week for a minimum of six months.
  • Complete the application process.
