GROUP PROGRAMS
Daggerwing Nature Center offers educational programs for school groups, senior centers, and private specialty groups (see below for details about programs for each group type). For all programs, Naturalists use live animals, models, interesting facts, and other fun materials to teach programs about Florida’s natives and conservation!  You can bring your group to the nature center on a field trip, or we can come to your facility as an outreach program.

Our programs are flexible to meet the needs of your group, so if you are looking for something specific to be included in a program, please ask. The following are the program topics we offer:

All programs are by advanced reservation only. To book a program, print out and complete our Program Reservation Request Form, (at the top of the page) and fax or mail it to the Nature Center. After receiving your completed request, we schedule and confirm your program in writing with a confirmation/invoice letter. Payment is due the date of the program by cash or check only. 

SCHOOL PROGRAMS
For all school programs, we incorporate grade-specific (K-5) curriculum objectives into all of our school programs.  Field trips last 1½ hours and include a program presentation, boardwalk tour, and exploration of the nature center exhibits, whereas outreach programs last 45 minutes and include a program presentation. For field trips, we can only accommodate a maximum of 60 participants per field trip. We can offer multiple field trip days for those that exceed the maximum capacity.
School Group Field Trip Program - $1 per student
School Group Outreach Program - $2 per student

SENIOR CENTER PROGRAMS
We provide nature-based enrichment programs for our elderly residents.  A field trip lasts approximately 1 ½ hours and includes a presentation, boardwalk tour, and exploration of exhibits, but can be tailored to meet the needs of the group.  An outreach program lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes a presentation on the topic of your choice.    
Senior Center Field Trip Program - $1 per participant
Senior Center Outreach Program - $2 per participant

SPECIALTY GROUP PROGRAM - $3 per person
Specialty groups include: scout troops, nature clubs, church groups, ‘mommy and me’ groups, libraries, etc.  Programs last approximately 1½ hours and include a program presentation, boardwalk tour, and exploration of the nature center exhibits. 

BIRTHDAY PARTY PROGRAM - $3 per person
Birthday party programs last approximately ½ hour to 1 hour, depending on the age and ability of the participants.  The program includes an animal presentation and a walk outside on the boardwalk or a craft.  Groups have the option to bring the party group for just the program or have the option to rent the classroom for the entire party (cake, presents, etc.).  Please click the “Room Rental Information” link for more rental information.  Max 30 participants

SPECIAL NOTES:
For all group programs, there is a minimum $20 charge.
Program lengths are approximate, as we tailor the program to the age and ability level of the participants.
