Volunteer at the Spectacular Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

 
The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens located in Delray Beach, Florida is actively seeking new volunteer applicants for its year-round docent program. Docents are crucial attributes to the museum experience and help educate the public about the history and wonders of the Morikami and it Roji-en gardens. Qualifications:

  • A love of Japanese art and culture and a strong interest in the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with small and large groups of varying ages and backgrounds
  • Enjoy working with others as part of a team
  • Reliability and enthusiasm

Requirements:

  • Ability to commit to one day a week (Tuesday-Friday)
  • Attendance at monthly docent meeting
  • Ongoing participation in "The Way of Docent" program including studies in local history, Tea Ceremony, Japanese gardens, and changing gallery exhibits
