Abrams Honors Girl Scouts for Going Green
Commissioner Abrams participated in judging essays and presenting awards during the Girl Scouts Eco Festival on February 28th in Boca Raton. The essay contest and festival was a special project of The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, which supports more than 20,000 girls in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River Counties. The topic of the essays was “Why is Going Green Important to You and the Community.” The commissioner presented the awards to the Girl Scouts who won in grade categories ranging from first through eighth grades. “I think this was a great project and experience for these girls, at this young age, to emphasize the importance of saving our environment,” said Abrams. # # #
