Mission:
The Financial Management section performs all functions to manage and monitor the financial condition of ISS. Because ISS is an internal service fund, there are both revenue and operating budgets which need to be prepared in addition to capital budgets for technology infrastructure improvements. Regular management reporting and monitoring of expenditures helps ensure the department is spending within the authorized limits established during the planning cycle. The section also must monitor the revenue from monthly billings to verify the department has appropriate funding for the planned projects. When necessary, the Financial Management section will also become involved with budget transfers, agenda items and contracts which will impact planned revenue or expenditures. Accuracy and efficiency are critical to the performance of this section.
