The primary role of Voice Services is to facilitate voice communications for employees to perform their job and provide county services. Telecommunications is the underlining infrastructure that enables most technology operations, and includes the following components:
- Large and small telephone systems, long distance access and voicemail services
- Automated attendant and IVR services
- Cellular/wireless/PCS/Blackberry/Pager services for mobile employees
As an operational mandate, Voice Services monitors telephone and voice network alarms/trouble reports, and coordinates restoration of all services as needed.
