Palm Beach County Housing and Community Development (HCD) engaged Strategic Planning Group, Inc. to prepare an affordable housing study to examine the local housing market. The primary objectives of the study are to:
- Focus on the housing needs of very-low, low, and moderate-income households;
- Determine housing affordability criteria, such as affordable rents and home purchase prices;
- Identify current conditions and recent trends in the local housing market;
- Describe incidences of cost burden and other housing problems;
- Prepare projections of growth-generated demand for additional housing units for 2006-2010; and
- Describe the effects of housing displacement due to condominium conversions, mobile home redevelopment, and hurricanes.
Hard copies of the Affordable Housing Study and the Workforce Housing Study are available for purchase at HCD offices for a cost of $35.89 each. Checks should be made payable to "PBC Board of County Ccommissioners".
