Maintains 3,397 lane miles of paved roads, 103.94 lane miles of shell rock roads, 195 miles of asphalt pathways, 1,138.97 miles of concrete sidewalks, and mow 2,637 acres of Road right of way. Develops and manages an annual resurfacing program. Manages the construction of new asphalt pathways, traffic calming devices such as speed humps and round abouts, intersection improvements, drainage improvements, street improvements, and concrete sidewalks.
Maintenance activities include, but are not limited to, grading county maintained shell rock roads, patching potholes, mowing right of ways, repairing pathways and sidewalks, clean and maintain storm drain systems, cleaning drainage ditches, removing and or trimming trees (safety-related), and responding to citizen inquiries and complaints about our services. After hours emergency service available through the Emergency Operating Center.
